Spectrum 66500 Over The Door Ironing Board Holder, White Reviews
Works great for T leg ironing board. Well made and sturdy. Mine is hung over the back side of my walk-in closet door. Where it hooks over the front side of the door it hangs down 3/4" -barely noticeable. It is thin enough for the door to shut with no problem yet sturdy enough to hold a fairly heavy ironing board securely. On the back side of the door it hangs down 9". The hooks stick out 2" from the back of the door with plastic covering tips to protect the board. With the ironing board attached the total it sticks out is 3" from the back of the door. Would easily fit over a door up to 1 5/8' thick. I chose this type because I didn't want to hang my iron with the board. I set the iron on a shelf next to the door. I highly recommend this ironing board holder if this style fits your needs.
Two days ago I got the bright idea to look for a holder for our ironing board as I was tired of tripping over it in the laundry room. I found this one through Amazon and ordered it right away. The holder arrived today and I took it down to the laundry room to try it out. It held the ironing board just like I thought it would, but when I went to close the door - it wouldn't close! Aaargh! My handy husband came down to see what all the fuss was about. He thought it was strange that it was curved at the top as that's why the door wouldn't close. Then he started laughing. "You put it on upside down!" Sure enough, when he flipped it the other way, it still held my ironing board but now the top of the holder was flat and the door closed easily. In case you are wondering, I am a blonde. But believe this blonde when I tell you this is a really great product!
I had difficulty finding one to hold my y shape ironing board. This was works perfectly over the laundry door to help keep it organized.
Our daughter recently moved into an apartment with limited storage space. One of the most difficult items to find a place for was the ironing board. I searched on Amazon and discovered this over-the-door ironing board holder and ordered one to be sent to her. She was delighted with how compactly and securely it held the ironing board safely in place behind a door.
If all you want to do is get your ironing board out of the way, this back-of-the-door hanger is perfect. No frills, no extra space taken up by an iron caddy, no tools necessary. Perfect!
Since this is over the door, it doesn't work for me. I have old, solid wood doors that are much thicker than these can handle. Too bad there is not another way to install on the door, rather than only over the door. So it is basically useless to me.
This product is perfect for storing an ironing board over a door where you want the door to completely open.
Love it...put it on the laundry/storage room door. The ironing board hangs nicely in the space created by the door hinges. You would not know that something is behind the door when it is open. My door is always open...so I cannot speak to how it is when the door is constantly being shut and opened. The iron needs to be stored seperate..but that it what works best for my laundry room. I would recommend it to family and friends and will strongly consider purchasing additional spectrum products.
Just what we were looking for to hide and get an ironing board up off the floor when not in use.
This item works great for hanging an ironing board. But I bought it to hang on a utility room door in the garage and hold a small ladder / stepstool and it works perfectly.
