I am very happy with my new wireless Door Chime and push button remote. It is working well, was easy to install and I like the custom cover. We were able to add a remote to the back door with a different chime, which is a great feature.
I've had this guy for about a year now. Still working like a charm, with the original set of batteries I put into it, too. Easy installation and setup... it's really fire-and-forget, which is awesome considering what a pain a wired doorbell can be to install.I had a hard time finding a wireless doorbell that looked good on the inside and had a sturdy, aesthetically-pleasing button on the outside. This Honeywell unit has both, and was just what I needed.
Decent performance at distance, but the sounds are lackluster for the price. THe cheap plastic frame vibrates at higher volumes which makes it sound cheap as well. The button is nice though, rubberized with a visible indicator of operation when pressed.
When I sell the house I'm taking this with me! Thats how good this is compared to all the other wireless crap I have tried in the past. The push button has a weather proof o-ring, a real watch battery, and appears to have a real antenna internally). I have a courtyard in the front of the house that has a gate. So the wireless push button is not next to or near the front door of the house where the receiver is located above the door. I have always struggled with these convenient gadgets, not to mention difficult to find something nice. Another surprise is that it appears to be real wood, you can stain it to match your decor!! Both pieces have low battery indicators!!! And again I finally have reliable wireless performance.Quoted 450 foot range, thats with out any obstructions/interference, but the reason why thats important, is because with obstructions and interference, this unit is able to reliably perform in a difficult environment. The manual specifies how much distance is lost with different types of home construction materials. The sound quality is less than desirable, the classic Winchester? sound is a little tinny with its cheap speaker but to me its a door bell, and this is the first door bell that can perform with a difficult house construction. I can live with the sound being a little off tune.Yes this is a pricy unit, and I was skeptical of its performance after going through a handful of other claimed to be high performance brands from your local Homedepot stores. But the price dropped to $45 sold and shipped from Amazon so I jumped to try it. Finally a reliable wireless door bell! It is ridiculous how happy I am over something like this.
