I'm very happy with this cup. It doesn't "sweat" in the hot weather when it is loaded with liquid and ice and the lid has a nice silicone seal that helps prevent leaking when the cup is tipped by accident. The only thing I didn't like about the cup was the re-usable straw that came with the cup. It is heavy and it scratched up the bottom of the cup during shipment. Also, I've never been thrilled with a reusable straw, since they can be difficult to clean. I prefer to pair the cup with disposable straws that are available at the grocery store or from my school's cafeteria. The biggest plus of this purchase is saving money by making my own cold-brew coffee at home and bringing it with me to work or out on errands.
I have bought many of these cups, both as gifts and extras for our family. We love them. They're great, easy to clean and don't "sweat" on the coffee table. I guess my only complaint is that I've stopped using my ultra-cool star trek coasters. ;)We throw them in the dishwasher and even the straws come out clean. We did chip one of the lids, but it required dropping a full cup onto concrete. They seem to survive all other casual accidents.
This is a great cup! It really doesn't sweat at all and is very sturdy. The lid screws on so it is almost leakproof (not completely because of the straw, of course). I like that the straw has a little bulge at the bottom, to keep it from coming completely through the lid and falling out. Overall, this cup is even better than I expected. I do wish it came in a smaller size than 16 oz, but that's not a big deal.In case you're wondering, the cup is completely clear with no logo (one of those pictured appears to have the "eco cup" logo on it").Edit October 9, 2011 - see my "update" in the comment below.
I was amazed when the product arrived and didn't have all the parts. It's a cup with a straw folks, I ordered 2 as a birthday gift and neither one came with a straw. This makes a 'sealed' cold cup a bit useless right along with the quality control and shipping departments of ToysNGamesEtc, the seller of the product.I will state Amazon was great. They issued a credit, offered to pay for next day shipping if I ordered a replacment product, and would cover the difference if there were any price increases. I couldn't take chance as the wifes birthday was at hand so it was off to a brick and mortar site where I could see what I was getting at purchase.
I don't know what's in iced tea that makes using traditional plastic cups or stainless steel taste bad but it is very noticeable. I'm glad I have this cup because It does not impart that plastic taste that you get from other cups. I mainly use it for iced tea. I only wish they had a larger version like 32 or 44 oz. The screw on lid is great! The double walled design not only insulates but it also eliminates the condensation problem with cold beverages. No more pools of water to accidentally set my work in. The one issue I do have is the straw. Because of this cup I have discovered that I bite my straws. If you bite the supplied acrylic straw it could break your face. It's very hard and I was unable to quit the habit of chomping the straw. so I have replaced it. The large size of a McDonald's straw fits this cup perfectly.
I received the cup without the straw which makes it worthless to me ...and too inexpensive to return. I love this style of cup but was disappointed when it arrived without the straw.
I bought this tumbler because I wanted to make more smoothies. I haven't made any smoothies yet but if you need to up your intake of water I find drinking it out of this tumbler has helped me. There is just something about a cup with a straw that makes drinking my recommended daily ounces of water even easier!
